BIOJoão Cristóvão Leitão
Graduated in Theatre and Performance Studies from ESTC (2009-2011)/University of Warwick (2011-2012). Is currently finishing his masters in Multimedia Art (Audiovisuals) from FBAUL. Was awarded a scholarship from INET-MD: Instituto de Etnomusicologia – Centro de Estudos em Música e Dança (FCSH-UNL, 2010-2011); was an intern at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (2012) and was a juror in IndieLisboa (2015) and FUSO (2015).
As creator, he founded and was part of the performative collective 3.14 (2010-2012: a.casa-lar; būan; One Night Stand: intervenção em 10 quartos; Não És Beckett, Não És Nada; and aqui); and, in 2012, become part of the artistic collective SillySeason (RiCARDO, DarkTourism, Palco Jurássico, Frei Luís de Sousa, T-REX, Panorama e Antígona) as co-creator and video artist.
Regularly develops video art projects, some of which were exhibited around Europe and awarded in Portugal: José Ninguém, by Rodrigo Pereira (Jovens Criadores – Video section, 2012); às vezes,penso que, se não te tivesse contado isto, não teria esta coisa (Audience Award – FUSO, 2013); O Retrato de Mónica (Audience Award – FUSO, 2014; Jovens Criadores – Video section, 2014; and Young Director Award – Fundação INATEL, 2014); O Retrato de Irineu (Jury Award/Acquisition FUSO/Fundação EDP Award, 2014); and Frei Luís de Sousa, by SillySeason (Best Portuguese Short Film Award – Queer Lisboa, 2014).
Collaborates with the audiovisual production company Videolotion (Crês ser, 2015); taught, between 2014 and 2015, in ESTC (Media Workshop); and was, in 2015, a multimedia/audiovisual technician in Residências Artísticas Belas-Artes, Lisboa, in FBAUL.
Francisca Manuel
(Figueira da Foz, 1984)
Masters student in
Multimedia Art, FBAUL. She completed Cinema/Movement Image and Advanced course
at Ar.Co in 2008, having attended the architecture course between 2002 and
2005.
Since 2006, she’s the author of videos and collaborator on projects with
artists and architects, including Fiona Tan, Mariana Silva, José Adrião,
Ricardo Carvalho+Joana Vilhena.
She directed Courage of Lassie (2009), a documentary about the artist Ana Jotta
that won the best international art documentary award in New York Independent
Film & Video Festival.
Elizabete Francisca
She was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. She completed a degree in Industrial Design (ESAD-CR), and studied dance at Fórum Dança (PEPCC) and at Escola Superior de Dança of Lisbon. She works as a performer and creator in the field of performing arts since 2009. She participated in several projects as a performer, dancer and actress. As interpreter and/or artistic collaborator she highlights the work with Ana Borralho & João Galante (Sexy MF, I Put a Spell on You, Untitled Still Life, Art Piss on money and politics, Purgatory and Here we are); with Vera Mantero (Good Feelings, Bad Feelings, Surreptitious - clandestine body and Mais Pra Menos Que Pra Mais ); with Rita Natálio (I don't understand and I am afraid of understanding, the world scares me with its planets and cockroaches); Loic Touzé (Ô Montagne, Around the Table); Tânia Carvalho (Icosahedron and Mark Tompkins (Improvisations and collaborations : Improvisation on the basis of Terry Riley`s IN C), among others. In collaboration with Teresa Silva she created the duets Take the hand that I take the arm and No waiting for wonder, both prize winners of the contest Jovens Criadores 2010/2011. In 2013 she creates the solo TSUNAMISM, recital for two strings in M, premiered at Culturgest, Lisbon. Both her work as creator and interpreter have been presented in various festivals between France, Portugal, Spain, Belgium and Austria. Currently she is supported by the structure O Rumo do Fumo of Vera Mantero.
João Pedro Fonseca
He was born in March 1990, he grew up in Lamego, studied fine arts at the high school and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in the painting department. Began to take a more active role in the arts from 2011 in the field of illustration, digital painting and live video art for musical concerts with Mr. Herbert Quain among others. In 2015 he decided to concentrate on the visual arts and participated in exhibitions in Videoformes Festival 2015 Montpellier, FRANCE, Art College Gallery Campinas, 2015 BRAZIL, Headquarters Gallery, 2015 Sao Paulo, BRAZIL, Luxury Violence, 2015 Lamego, PORTUGAL and Alternative Worlds 2015, Lisbon, PORTUGAL.
