The [Portugal among Heritage] project by MNAC - National Museum of Contemporary Art, as part of the Arts Quarter (which brings together different cultural partners in the Chiado neighbourhood), challenged people who live, work or pass through Chiado, or who have a connection with it in some way, to unleash their imagination on a simple red A4 sheet of paper and create their own black and white record on it, completely freely.
Going far beyond the extensive imagery that could be associated with this area of Lisbon, its forms, architecture, memories, events or characters, the many authors responded to the challenge with a multiplicity of sensibilities, contents, techniques, interpretations and references. Aged between 4 and 90, and with the most diverse skills, backgrounds, professions and interests, they now share the authorship of this panel, which expresses diversity and difference, but also the enormous richness of working collectively.
