2017-07-06
2017-07-23

xCoAx is an international conference that promotes the discussion and discovery of synergies at the frontiers of digital arts, in the form of a multidisciplinary questioning on aesthetics, computing, communication and the elusive X factor that connects them all. The 2017 edition will take place in Lisbon, including a conference, performance sessions and an exhibition at the Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea (MNAC, Rua Capelo) comprising two groups.

The guests exhibition gathers artworks by four internationally renowned authors who focus their artistic production on computer art: Frieder Nake, Philip Galanter, Olia Lialina and Penousal Machado.

The group of artistic projects showcased during the conference brings together nineteen artworks by authors such as Monty Adkins, the Parisian collective Quinzequinze, the Fabrica research center, Daniel Temkin, Nuno Cabrita and Arne Eigenfeldt, who explore the role of computational media in artistic and design practices, among other cultural manifestations, from performance to musical composition.

The opening of the exhibition, on July 5th at 6pm, features performances by Victoria Bradbury and Daniel Temkin.
