What’s in a Picture? About the Portrait of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde. Lecture with Rogério Puga
What’s in a Picture? About the Portrait of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde.
In 1890 Oscar Wilde's Portrait of Dorian Gray was published, a story that raises the concern about being the opinion, about what a portrait enhances or hides as a double of the portrayed. In the 130 years of this launch and under the pretext of the exhibition "Dilemma of being and appearing. The portrait in photography, painting and sculpture (1850-1916)", curated by Emília Tavares and Maria de Aires Silveira, MNAC organizes a series of lectures around the picture.
The full program will be announced shortly, but the first lecture, by Professor Rogério Miguel Puga, will take place on December 11, at 4 pm, at MNAC.
Rogério Miguel Puga, Associate Professor at NOVA FCSH, researcher at CETAPS and CHAM, and author of several works on Anglo-Portuguese relations and Macau history.
