Cost *: 180 € general public; 150 € museum friends Target audience: all levels, from beginners to professional artists Registrations through 21 343 21 48 or to museuchiado@mnac.dgpc.pt * The cost includes all necessary materials Within the scope of the exhibition “Biography of the Trace. Collection of Drawing (1836-1920) ”, shown at MNAC (Sala dos Fornos) from 7 February to 31 May 2020, curated by Maria de Aires Silveira, the MNAC Educational Service provides its visitors and friends with a real design experience with a technique widely disseminated in the 19th century. Taught by Nelson Ferreira, painter, draftsman and Drawing teacher, with extensive tutorial experience in national museums in Portugal and England, the course is aimed at the general public, from 25 to 28 February (inclusive), with a duration of 3 hours and a half a day, between 2 pm and 5:30 pm. As the trainer says, the “Bargue course was the most acclaimed method in the 19th century to train the great geniuses of drawing, with a real ability to draw (by eye, without taking any measures except the height and the total width). This rigorous training is similar to the studies that academic artists like Soares dos Reis, José Malhoa or John Singer Sargent did (as well as modernists who knew how to draw, like Picasso). ”
